I do believe in Divine intervention and Turtle Wisdom was sent to me at this particular time.
After raising four boys, leaving a full time career for a part time job, and seeing my body shift, fall and spread when I turned 50, the question "who am I?" keeps bouncing around in my head.
From Turtle Wisdom, I gained inspiration, encouragement, guidance, and most of all -- me.
The format of this great little book is wonderful. No wasted words, no reading through excess fluff to get to the meat of the subject. It can be read as a whole or in parts; by chapter or by topic.
Turtle Wisdom is re-readable, perfect for beginning and / or ending the day. Turtle Wisdom is a must read for anyone who wants to embrace life. It is an easy read full of wisdom, quotes, and simple instructions for becoming YOU!

"Turtle Wisdom--Coming Home to Yourself" by Donna DeNomme is a book that is clearly written from the heart. There is a teaching that says, "What come from the heart, enters into the heart." Ms DeNomme peppers her book with wisdom from Native American teachings. She was voted Colorado's "Spiritual Health Guru." She survived childhood trauma so she knows first hand how to heal and rise.
"You get... You!" is the theme that Ms DeNomme builds in this book. She teaches how to take care of your self along the way in the journey of life. The drawings throughout the book are sweet and whimsical. The author's words are encouraging and confident, sprinkled with a lighthearted tone. She shares thoughts and techniques as tools for life. Here is one technique I especially liked, quoted from the text
"Cancel! Cancel! Each thought, every action has a vibration and impacts our life experience. There are times when you think, say, or do something that is not aligned with your genuine intention. Be aware of what you put out there. When you express yourself from that `off' place, you can neutralize your faux pas. ... This canceling approach is not meant to be an excuse for you to say and do horrible things, thinking you can then cancel them afterwards. You are responsible for the way you interact with others. ... Cancel! Cancel! Is a quality control technique for conscious energetic living." ... It is an attitudinal shift."
Here is another gem of wisdom the author shares
"Where you are right now and who you are at this very moment is absolutely unique and precious. No matter what may be happening in your life, there is nothing about you that is truly broken. You do not need to be fixed. There is a part of you, which always remains intact, unscathed. The healing is in bringing forth the part of you which is always well."

This book is good. It has helped me find myself and build confidence in situations that are new or scary for me.
In my humble opinion, it’s a good basic beginner’s book for someone just starting the self-healing or self-discovery process. I am a little further along on my journey but I still read it and received what I needed from it.
