A free copy of this story was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.David loves beautiful things. He likes to surround himself with it. He likes to help his lovers achieve it too. But David has a darkness about him and readers witness it within the first few pages as he's helping his current lover Chris who's unable to help himself due to starvation caused by David's hands. In fact he has a root cellar full of lovers he has to help and very limited time to do it.
Jett just moved in next door to David. He's can't stop thinking about his ex, Josh. So decides to introduce himself to the neighbor. Jett thinks David is cute but a bit too thin after their introduction. So returns home to bake hoping to win David over with his goodies. At the same time he can't help but obsess over his ex, Josh.
There was a bit of undercurrent that Jett liked to fatten people up. Whereas David wanted thin lovers. This actually made me very curious about who would win out. If Josh, Jett's ex would come into the picture at all. The ending took a different turn than I thought it would.

Deadly Sugar Ofelia Grand
Shitfuck but this is chilling stuff. Do we ever really know our neighbours or friends?? Just what is in that garden shed at the bottom of their garden?? And that is the point - the charcters could be anyone.
Ms Grand has an almost deadpan way of writing , which makes me wonder about her sanity.
